YouTube Money Calculator
Estimate YouTube ad revenue from views with niche-specific RPM ranges from 2026 creator-economy data. Low, typical, and high earnings band.
Use your YouTube Studio analytics views figure for a real number. We'll show a low / typical / high earnings band based on your niche.
RPM (revenue per 1,000 views): $8–$25 range, $15 typical. Bands from 2026 creator-economy data; your actual RPM in YouTube Studio is the source of truth.

How this estimate is calculated
earnings = (views / 1,000) × RPM
RPM (revenue per 1,000 views) already accounts for YouTube's 45% revenue share and the fact that only some views are monetised. It's the right number to use for creator-side estimates. CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) is the advertiser-side number and is roughly 2x higher.
This calculator estimates ad revenue only. It excludes YouTube Premium revenue (small), channel memberships, Super Chats, sponsorships, affiliate links, and merch — which often exceed ad revenue for larger channels.
Niche RPM bands come from creator-economy survey data (Tubular, Tubefilter, Social Blade aggregates, 2024-2026). Your actual RPM varies based on geography of audience (US/UK/CA highest), watch time, ad inventory, and seasonality (Q4 highest).

Frequently asked questions
How much money do YouTube channels make per 1000 views?
It varies by niche. Finance and tech niches see RPMs of $15-$40 per 1,000 views (top earners). Education and business hit $7-$18. Lifestyle, beauty, and gaming run $2-$7. Music and kids' content are the lowest at $1-$3. Our calculator shows the typical band for 12 niches plus a custom-RPM mode.
What's the difference between CPM and RPM on YouTube?
CPM is what advertisers PAY per 1,000 impressions of their ad. RPM (revenue per mille) is what creators ACTUALLY receive per 1,000 video views, after YouTube's 45% revenue share and the fact that not every view shows an ad. RPM is the right number for estimating creator earnings; it's typically 40-55% of CPM.
How accurate is this YouTube money calculator?
It produces a low/typical/high range based on niche benchmarks, which is more accurate than a single number. Your actual earnings depend on geography (US/UK/CA audiences pay more), watch time per video, ad inventory available, seasonality (Q4 is highest), and the specific topics you cover. For an exact number, pull your RPM from YouTube Studio → Analytics → Revenue and use Custom RPM mode.
What is RPM and where do I find mine?
RPM (revenue per mille) is the creator-side number. Find it in YouTube Studio under Analytics → Revenue → RPM. It's the total revenue you received divided by your total views, multiplied by 1,000. Plug it into Custom RPM mode for a precise earnings estimate.
Does this include YouTube Premium revenue and other income?
No, this calculator estimates ad revenue only. It excludes YouTube Premium subscriber revenue (usually small), channel memberships, Super Chats and Stickers, sponsorships, affiliate links, and merch sales. For most channels above 100K subscribers, non-ad revenue often exceeds ad revenue.
How many views do I need to make money on YouTube?
To monetise on YouTube you need 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months (or 1,000 subscribers and 10 million Shorts views in 90 days). Once monetised, a niche with $5 RPM needs 200,000 views to earn $1,000/month. A niche with $20 RPM needs only 50,000 views. Check the calculator above for your niche.
Can AI help me make YouTube videos faster?
Yes. Our faceless YouTube channel pipeline takes a script and ships a finished narrated video with AI voiceover, scenes, captions, and music in about two minutes — useful for creators running multiple channels or publishing 3-5x per week at niche RPMs above $10.
